Busy fishing waters are the way of life in the land that introduced the dropshot rig to bass fishing. In Japan, tournaments are held on highly pressured lakes creating congestion that is hard to imagine even in the United States! Added to that unimaginable traffic, anglers also have to face a frightened, spooky bass that will bite only under the best of conditions! In order to be competitive in crowded tournaments, anglers need an edge; some bit of difference between them and other anglers. It can be the casting distance of the lure, the action of the lure, the sound it generates in the water, or the shape of the wake. ZIP BAITS lures were created to provide that advantage! High specific gravity tungten, MZ-19, is a finely engineered version of the popular metal. Used in the creation of the Zip Baits, MAG-DRIVE is not be easily imitated by competing manufactures. Coupled with superior lure design, the material provides a lure quality unduplicated in the fishing industry. ZIPBAITS staff repeatedly dared to field-test these high quality lures on Japan's highly pressured waters. Models that survived these rigorous tests are offered for sale to savvy anglers! Born out of high technology and tested on some of the most highly pressured waters in the world, ZIP BAITS is justly proud of these fine producs!

Japan is the birthplace of technologies and materials used the production of fishing tackle. In recent years, the metal, tungsten has become very popular in the manufacture of lures and terminal tackle though many of these produce are made with an alloy of relatively low purity. ZIPBAITS is a pioneer in the use of an extremely pure tungsten material known as MZ-19. The company adopted the new material for use in the main weight of hardbaits and as weights and sinkers for soft plastics. In hardbaits, MZ-19 tungsten enables a more central placement of the weight, impossible with other materials such as lead. Also unlike lead, tungsten does not leach into the water creating a health hazard for aquatic animals! Even if left on the bottom, MZ-19 has been shown to exhibit very minimal iimpact on the environment. |
